A piece of history
For the first time in 200 years, 18th century-style stills are being installed at the soon-to-be reconstructed George Washington’s Whiskey Distillery at Mount Vernon, Virginia.
The distillery, which will open to the public in April 2007, will be the only operating 18th century-style distillery in North America.
The rebuilt distillery will be a national distilling museum and the gateway to the American Whiskey Trail, which encompasses sites in New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee.
