Martine Nouet
Nose
Sharp. Lively. Young oak. Rhubarb crumble. White pepper. Develops on spices. With water, more wood, damp cellar.
Palate
Crisp, clean. Flowing. A full spices outburst. In the back, a winey flavour (sweet grapes). Water cuts the edges off but it also trivializes the flavors.
Finish
Sweeter than midpalate. Almondy.
Comment
More interesting without water. But then, alcohol prevails. The nose is appealing.

Nose
Sugared almond, wood sap/pine resin back to estery notes. Pineapple, sulphur.
Palate
Concentrated and quite firm the alcohol giving heat to the sweet demerara sugar sweetness. Toffee with good weight.
Finish
Spicy. Good length.
Comment
At last something to get to grips with.
