Whisky Magazine is the perfect complement to the dram in your glass. Every issue brings you fascinating articles on the art, science and romance of the 'water of life', plus page after page of tasting notes.

Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson

Nose
Powerfully earthy-fruity perfumes. Fruit skins. Fruit boxes at a market.
Palate
Smooth and syrupy. Sweet. Peachy, orangey.
Finish
Assertive. Dry. Peach stones. Rind-like. Woody.
Comment
I am pleased that this very rare malt has been made available. Ladyburn is a product about which I am frequently asked. Sad to say, its greatest appeal is as a collector's item.

Jim Murray

Nose
Varying shades of light oak have not entirely dimmed the malt. Just a tad spirity but pleasant with minimum complexity.
Palate
Oak, oak and more (spicy) oak.
Finish
Oak.
Comment
This has lost all trace of shape and form. Pretty one-dimensional yet easily drinkable thanks to a singular malty sweetness, especially towards the very end. Don't bother opening.
