Michael Jackson
Nose
As though a sea breeze were gusting across the glass, and promising to blow a gale.
Palate
Firm, oily but drying. Bay leaves. Parsley. Emphatic seaweed.
Finish
Powerful, peppery, warming.
Comment
This one blew up a storm for me.

Nose
Initially old style Californian chardonnay, all butter, nut and wood, ten the smoke starts and with water becomes pretty firm and severe.
Palate
Robust, firm, quite alcoholic, powerful. A nodule of sweetness in the middle.
Finish
Dry and austere.
Comment
Port Ellen has always struck me as the most Calvinist of Islay's malts.
