Nose
'Green' aromas. The forest floor.
Palate
Oily. Nutty. Creamy flavours. Sweet.
Finish
Firm. Robustly spicy. Long.
Comment
One of Speyside's secret delights. But a hard whisky to know. Big flavours, but tightly combined and unyielding.

Dave Broom

Nose
Rich, oily with a meaty edge. Dubbin. Smoke, fruit and nut and surprisingly fragrant top notes.
Palate
Oily rather than silky texture: then a nutty smoky bite and citrus. A full-blooded, mouth-coating experience, and for all its robust, meaty nature, quite gentle.
Finish
Long. Meaty.
Comment
Soft yet savoury. Mortlach's little brother and a forgotten classic.
