Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson

Nose
Pungent. Piney, tar-like, intensely smoky, earthy, darkly sherried.
Palate
Coconut oiliness. Resiny. Fruity and phenolic.
Finish
Oaky and very salty. Immensely powerful, tenacious.
Comment
Frighteningly good. Godzilla is alive and well and living in Campbeltown.

Jim Murray

Nose
An extraordinarily delicate smokiness, boasting soft, plummy fruit and a gristy maltiness.
Palate
Bigger than the nose suggests: peat runs before everything else in between sweet maltiness.
Finish
Chewy, vanilla-rich, kippery, buttery, still gristy and a little young but wonderfully long.
Comment
A cask well worth keeping back to see in the new century. And, as a 9 Years Old, proves that youth can conquer over age. Spectacular.
