Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson

Nose
Fresh bread with butter and salad leaves. A picnic in a field of daisies.
Palate
Fresh, doughy bread with lashings of real butter.
Finish
Lemon marmalade, with bittersweet peel.
Comment
Normally thought of as a light malt but this is a rich, viscous expression.

Dave Broom

Nose
A dusty start (sacking/cigar ash) with a hint of putty, then mellows into rum-soaked dried fruits. Sweet and slightly savoury. Becomes toffee-like.
Palate
Surprisingly light, but has creamy softness and firm oakiness. Clean, orange peel, toffee sauce.
Finish
Dry, slightly oak.
Comment
An extra layer of maturity. Sweet and ripe but holding age pretty well.
